The Abel Tasman National Park is in the North of the South Island and we had originally planned to do a 3 day hike with 2 overnight stays in the park itself. The trek is stunning with amazing wildlife to be seen.

We went up to a place called Murchison on the West Coast of the South Island to go White Water Rafting with the guys at Ultimate Descents and had a great time!

We had a few friends over for christmas day before heading down to the beach for a swim and some games.

Originally planned as a leisurely walk in the hills, we ended up having to walk down a scary road into Governors Bay because the coastal path decided to end early. These photos were taken at the beginning of the walk.

Weekend away to Punakaiki on the West Coast (about a 5 hour drive through the Alpine Highway)

Check our the new bikes and some small surf! (which I went out in after our bike ride)

Here’s a few pictures from around these parts – the sunrise is taken from our veranda, the other sea picture is from Sumner (a town slightly to the south of us, a little more eloquent than Brighton, its where all the English Doctors live!!) it’ looks lovely on a sunny day!

Finally moved into our new house yesterday (Saturday) and have bought some bargains to fill it. We went to a place called “Super Shed” (a.k.a Super Shit) because you can buy anything there. So we got a massive mirror ($1), tv ($45), computer desk ($6), tv stand ($2) and a lamp stand ($7.50).
It was well worth the long drive up to Mt Hutt -some truly awe-inspiring scenery and views!
Not a great deal to say about Akaroa apart from we were highly disappointed by the French-ness of this apparently ‘French’ area of New Zealand.
Debs and I went for a walk on New Brighton beach a few days ago and came across some really cool things including a dead shark. The beach is literally 30 seconds walk from our front door at our new house that we move into on 8th August, so enjoy the photos so far.

Finally after getting our new camera yesterday (Fuji FinePix Z30) we have taken some pictures of our ‘Shed’. What the pictures don’t show is how cold it is in here.

Debbie and I have decided to move to an area called ‘New Brighton’ in Christchurch (South Island). We’ve just been house hunting for the past 2 days and have found a beautiful place 1 minute from the ocean (where I can surf) that has heating, insulation and loads of room for guests!

After 4 days of travelling, we finally arrived safe and sound in Christchurch, New Zealand. The journey was long and at time stressful, but the food on the plane was good!
